It’s summer and the ski resorts are busy. Preparations are underway for an unforgettable winter season with many exciting new features.

The mountain is now brighter and better.

In addition to new lifts, more slopes and improved lighting, we are extending opening hours and widening several slopes. As a bonus: All children staying at SkiStar Lodge eat for free at our restaurants throughout the winter.

What's new in winter 2025/2026

  • In Vemdalen, a completely new, family-friendly ski area is taking shape – Hovde Syd. The first part opens at Christmas 2025, with green and blue runs suitable for all ages.
  • From this winter, you can also buy a more affordable SkiPass valid only for Klövsjö/Storhogna (Vemdalen) or Högfjället (Sälen).
  • In Åre, enjoy more evening lighting, longer opening hours, and a new lift connecting Björnen with central Åre.
  • In Trysil, the Trysil Gondola is being launched – a modern lift running from Eventyr up the mountain.
  • In Lindvallen in Sälen, Magic Mountain is open daily from 17:00 to 18:00 during weeks 51 to 9 – the last hour each evening. This is included in the SkiPass. Additionally, Valle appears on some evenings. In addition, the Adam and Pernilla slopes by the Söderåsen Express are being merged into a new, continuous and challenging run with improved snowmaking and exciting forest sections.
  • From the 2025/2026 season, children aged 0–6 eat for free at all SkiStar Lodge restaurants.

News! Trysil gondola

SkiStar Trysil is investing in the skiing experience and will have a new, state-of-the-art gondola next winter. The Trysil gondola will be 2,406 meters long and have a capacity of 3,000 guests per hour. It will be ready to transport guests from the children's area Eventyr up the mountain as early as season 25/26.

New! Hovde Syd

A family-friendly expansion of the skiing at Vemdalsskalet is taking shape. Stage one of Hovde Syd will open for Christmas 2025 and will offer a red and several blue slopes, as well as a family-friendly park!

Free food for children aged 0–6

Happy news for little rumbling tummies! Children aged 0–6 eat for free when staying at SkiStar Lodge and hotels.
